DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

I. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, inerrant in the original writings. It is the all-sufficient, infallible, and final authority in faith and life.

II. We believe that there is only one living and true God, self-existent and infinite in holiness and all other perfections. The God-head constitutes three Divine Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - who are one in substance, power, and eternity.

III. We believe that man, in the person of the first Adam, was created in God’s image in uprightness; but by voluntary transgression Adam fell into sin, plunging all of humanity into condemnation and death. Now all of mankind is born in sin, shaped in iniquity, and are willful sinners; and so are without excuse before God.

IV. We believe that the Father sent His only begotten Son, the promised Messiah, who was born of the virgin Mary and made flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Son of God is fully true God and true man, yet one Christ, the only mediator between God and man.

V. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on a cross, shedding His precious blood for our sins according to the Scripture as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. He took upon Himself the just wrath of God that we deserve because of our sin in order to redeem, call, justify, sanctify, and glorify us.

VI. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, His exaltation to the right hand of God the Father, and His position as our High Priest, Advocate, Mediator, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

VII. We believe that salvation is solely by God’s free grace; that man is unable to do anything to merit acceptance by God; and that according to God’s irresistible call through His holy Word, man will - in repentance and faith - call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to be fully forgiven and freely accepted by Him.
